Young People

If you are aged 12-18 don't miss our next Cool Voices club night in February 2010 which will feature local young bands, poets and comedians.

During this year's Festival young people aged 12-18 enjoyed a mini WordsFest with packed workshops where they tried grafitti; writing for gaming; writing about fashion; writing a novel and creating a rap. The afternoon ended with a hotly fought poetry and every-other-kind-of-writing slam and will definitely be back next year.

If you enjoy writing, go to our young people's page for info about what's on for young writers aged 12-18.

The Festival on Youtube...

Young people who take part in our Cool Voices  club nights and various fringe groups have put records of their events on Youtube. Go to http://www.youtube.com/ and search Ilkley Literature Festival to see the results.

Interpreted Events

A number of events at each year's Festival are sign language interpreted for BSL users in our audience:

If you are a BSL user, contact us and let us know which kind of events you would like interpreted in 2010 - and please tell any BSL using friends.
